Hi, I recently discovered the Dell latitude d630 sim card slot driver card slot under the battery in my Latitude D630.

I am using Dell Latitude E6410, it is having SIM card slot option below the battery. I have inserted the SIM Slot ( Airtel India Mobile Network) and i need to use Broadband through the SIM. I tired but not able to connect. Can any one share how to resolve it.

If step by step available please provide.:(. Best Answer: Hi Shankar, I am Shuchi from the Dell Social Media outreach team. In most of the Dell systems the SIM card slot is available. However, in order to use it for broadband connection we need a Wireless WAN card to be installed on the system.

If you have the WWAN card compatible to the internet service provider you will be able to connect to the internet as soon as you insert the SIM card.You will need to get a mobile broadband subscription and activate it. In case you any further questions please let me know.

My Dell Inspiron 1525 has one as well, and I nearly lost a SIM card trying to stick it in there;-) I believe that slot is reserved for special hardware, particularly WAN cards (like for what you're describing).

If you know for certain your computer has a built in wireless air card, then your slot may very well be hooked up to it. If you have one it should show up under Network Connections in the Control Panel, as well as somewhere in your Device Manager.
